I just pulled into my apartment complex after coming back from the local sports car club meet we have here every week. It is 12:15am or so. I pulled in and shut down the computer and set the turbo timer for 3:00 cuz I was happy boosting on teh interstate on my way back. I get out of the car and one of my neighbors is standing at his front door as I get out. I close the door and walk away and notice him standing there and he is motioning with his hand as if he were in the car turning the keys and he says, "you gonna turn it off?" Three weeks ago I was out in my car with the engine running as I was installing some updates for my software and I was parked in front of his apartment in a "backed-in, quick exit" parking job. My muffs were pointed at the front of his building. He came out after about 10 minutes and started bitching about me running my engine and told me, not asked me, to turn it off. I half-heartedly complied with his request, but turned it off, telling him that I was doing some maintenance to my computer system. He gave me a dirty look and went inside. As I am walking by and he makes his remark, I knew it was not in good gesture as if he was concerned that my car was still running, but rather that the exhaust was irritating to him. I heard what he said and I just responded with a smile, "Hello." And he stated, "Are you going to turn that off?" I told him, "No, I'm not going to. It is a turbocharged vehicle and it requires a cool down period before turning it off." He gave the "whatever" gesture with his hands and shook his head and bolted back into his apartment. So now, here I am at my computer, pissed as fuck that this bastard doesn't realize that he is living in a f**king apartment complex where people are living in close quarters and this is just one of the things that you have to learn to deal with. Otherwise, but a f**king house out in the boonies for god's sake. I'm terribly tempted to walk over there and knock on his door and tell him this fact and to deal with it.
